Princess and Missy’s Magical Adventures…………………..5

What a wonderful book to read to the boys. This book has the best illustrations I have seen in a while.  I love the fact the boys can color them if they want.  The quiz at the end is so much fun and the boys learned a bit.  This book is full of  great values to teach  kids and adults for that matter.  Just because someone finds themselves in bad situations doesn’t mean it is their fault.  Princess over comes everything that is thrown at her and helped others in need.  It would be great if everyone could do that.  I would highly recommend this book to anyone kids and adults alike.  It is a quick but fun read and will get your kids talking for hours about this delightful book.

Alright parents this book is a must have in your home if you have teenagers or about to have them.  This is an eye opener and the author does an excellent job of keeping up with current issues the kids are facing or about to face.  It will help get your kids talking to you as well about everything that is going on.  They need help in today’s time.  I would highly recommend this book to any parent or teenager.

It Writes Itself………………..4
The author surprised me in this book.  She has a way to ease your mind so many great ideas and thoughts to get your moving in the right direction.  She makes the reader think and get their creative juices flowing.  The exercises in the book really do make you think and there are going to be some great writers out there after this book.

Phantom Four Children of the Grave……………….4

An interesting read of 4 brothers who have had an accident.  They come back years later with powers and have no recall of their past lives.  From the beginning of this book it reads like emails and is very unique.  I rather enjoyed being able to review this book for the author.  He has something in it for everyone, mystery, thriller, sex, romance, horror, humor etc.  You can not go wrong with this read.

>Review of A Sportscaster’s Guide to Watching Football by Mark Oristano

>A Sportscaster’s Guide to Watching Football………………….4

Mark Oristano was a sportscaster for over 30 years with the NFL.   He has broken down the strategy behind the game to terms so simple anyone who has never watched football, would understand.  This goes  for college and high school football as well, not just the NFL.  I love watching football, so there were a lot of things I already new in the book, but that did deter me to read it further.  This book would make a great gift for anyone starting out about foot ball or the old pro in your home.

>Guest Author Julie Metz

First, thank you Julie for coming by.  Today Julie has stopped by to talk about her book Perfection.

PERFECTION
On a bitterly cold afternoon in January 2003 my husband, Henry, a charming and handsome man of 44, collapsed and died on our kitchen floor. We had been married for 12 years, a couple for 16 years.
We were not a happy couple, though we lived in a beautiful house in an exurban town with our wonderful 6-year daughter. Over recent years our fighting had become frequent and bitter, yet I still thought of him as the love of my life, even when he drove me crazy. His death upended my world, which had now lost its purpose. A fogginess swept over me, and for six months I drifted, unsure how I would ever pull myself out.
Seven months after his death, just as I was getting over the worst of my grief came the rest of it.
Emails discovered on my husband’s computer revealed that he had been involved with several women in the last years of our marriage. The longest and most damaging affair was with a woman named Cathy in my own small town, the mother of my daughter’s best friend. Now I was the center of the most sordid suburban scandal.
When I recovered from my initial shock I determined that I had to get to the bottom of what presented as a mystery. How could I have lived with a man I thought I knew for 16 years and have been so blindsided? What could I keep from my marriage that felt real and authentic and how would I move forward into the future?
I decided to contact the women, my husband’s lovers, the ones I could find. This led me to a woman in California, someone I realized I might have befriended under other circumstances and to another woman who seemed so impossibly different from me that my head was spinning trying to make sense of it all. Ironically, as a result of our conversations and correspondence this woman became a real friend. Just recently we met in New York City for dinner and I marveled once again that we had found common ground through such a painful journey.
Perfection is a book about how my sense of the world was completely upended and how I made a new life for myself and my daughter. Now I live with a boyfriend of six years. We have made a new life together, filled with the daily family struggles we all share. I hope my book will give readers a sense that it is possible to work through a time of real crisis and come out the other side renewed, stronger, ready to meet new challenges. You can reinvent yourself, even in midlife.

>Review of Lydia’s Charm by Wanda E Brunstetter

>Lydia’s Charm……………………5

This is the second book I have read by Wanda Brunstetter and loved it.  Lydia was asked by her mom to move back to Ohio since Lydia’s husband had past, and she lost her job.  Josh her 4 year old, and herself go to live with her mom.  Their relationship is already rocky, and in time Lydia hopes to mend it.  Mae ( Lydia’s mom) has been taking care of her father whom she can never make happy.  Once he dies, things start to change some for the better, and some are not so good.  Will Mae and Lydia find happiness, and or mend their relationship?  The author does a fantastic job in the writing of the story.  I will be looking for more books by her.

Fantastic devotional read.  I have been looking for one when I was asked to review this book.  The fact the author incorporated Amish teachings and beliefs, was an added bonus for me.  I will be using this book over and over.  A great gift for anyone at holidays or birthdays.

>Guest Anthony Wedgeworth

>Hello everyone please help me welcome Anthony to the blog today.

B: How did you come up with the idea for the Altered Creatures series?

A: I’ve actually been making notes for this series for around 30 years. It’s been a life-long dream to finally see all of these ideas come together. I’ve outlined a total of 30 books within 5 different series. I then decided to start with the Thorik Dain series, which is an underdog coming-of-age story. The reason it took so many years to develop was due to high expectations I had for each. I wanted each to be a stand alone novel and yet have key ties to all of the other novels. In addition, I placed hidden “easter eggs” of information in each book which will mean nothing special to the reader until they have read one of the other novels. By doing this, the reader gets a new experience each time they read the same book after they have read one of the others. I have fans that have read the books 4 and 5 times each and still say they get more out of it each time.

B: Sounds like you’ve always wanted to be a writer.

A: Actually no. I grew up with a severe case of dyslexia, which I will always have. But I never let it stop me from achieving what I wanted. I learned to accept the good and the bad with the learning disability and went on to achieve management positions in companies such as director, vice president and even president. When I start writing notes about the series, I always assumed it would be made into a movie, not a book. But once I started writing them, I realized that I could create a writing style that caused the reader to feel as though they had just watched the movie. So, I decided to focus on the novels.

B: I know each book is a favorite, but do you have one that stands out more then the rest?

A: It’s hard not to have a special emotion with your first novel. In my case, this would be Fate of Thorik. There is such an internal growth for the writer on their first major endeavor. I know I’ve grown as an author and as a person during the writing of all my books. In my mind, each new one continues to get better than the last.

B: What other books have your written?

A: I have completed 4 of 6 in a series of books with illustrations for ages 10 to 15 called Nums of Shoreview. This is one of the 5 series within the 30 books I’ve outlined. These fast-paced books are also fantasy adventure and actually take place in the same realm as the Thorik Dain series. Younger readers will get a glimpse at some of the characters, locations, and events that take place in the Thorik series so that when the reader is ready for YA books they can step right in and feel comfortable that they know what’s going on.

B: What authors/books do you like to read?

A: I like how Timothy Zahn puts a story together and his writing style. He doesn’t talk down to you. Nor does he make you work hard to understand what he’s saying.  It’s always an easy and exciting read.

B: Do you have any projects in the works now?

A: I’m always working on 2 or 3 books at any given time. Periodically I need to take a break from one of my novels and step away from it so I can come back later with a clear head. During this hiatus, I step into one of the other novels. Right now I’m typing up the 4th Thorik Dain novel as well as the 5th Nums of Shoreview novel, while sketching out the details for the 5th Thorik Dain novel. I typically publish 2 to 3 books per year.

B: Do you have any time off? If so, what do you do with it?

Anthony thank you so much for stopping by to talk to us today.
