I am so happy to have Avery here with me today. This isn’t the frist time she has come by and I hope this one won’t be the last. I love her books. After the interview you will find my review of A Dry Creek Bed. Be sure to check it out.
Avery Flynn Q&A
Thank you so much for having me over at your place today!
Name three authors with whom you’d love to be mentioned in the same breath.
Only three? I’m going to say Lori Foster because I just love her books, the way she tells a story that balances the romance with the suspense is so much fun to read. Next, Janet Evanovich because of her humor and pacing. I pick up one of her books and I know I’m going to be ordering dinner that night because I will be too sucked up to stop to make something healthy to eat. The other member of my ideal author trifecta would be Dakota Cassidy because she makes me giggle like I’m back in study hall with my best friend.
What makes you happiest?
A warm beach. That is always my happy place.
What talent would you most like to have?
I’d love to be able to draw. My mother and sister are amazing visual artists and for me even stick people is a challenge.
For the sake of this question you’re single, what five personality traits would you put down on a matchmaking questionnaire?
- Slightly twisted sense of humor.
- Feisty.
- Known to talk a rock into submission.
- Loves to dance.
- Can’t wait to travel the world.
Tell us a little about A Dry Creek Bed.
Gladly! Dry Creek County Sheriff Hank Layton is the stuff of dreams. Nasty, steamy, delicious fantasies that leave Beth Martinez weak-kneed and desperately wanting the man she can never have.
Hank can’t stop thinking about Beth to the point where he’s afraid of becoming permanently bowlegged. And even though the sexual tension between them is thick enough to trip over, she runs every time he chases.
But when a mysterious developer forces her neighbors off their land, Beth becomes the one person standing between the scoundrel and millions of dollars. Only Hank can help her uncover the truth. Together they risk their lives exposing decades-old secrets and learn that everything is not as it seems in their rural Nebraska town.
My Review:
Beth is Hanks sisters best friend. She has had a crush on Hank since she was a girl. Now that Beth is around and back in town Hank can’t keep his thoughts of Beth at bay. He wants to help her and wants to be with her. Beth is closed off a bit to men as she hears Hank has bedded any woman who comes along. She soon finds out the truth and Hank helps her with her land issue. As things start to heat can both work out their problems and move on with each other.
I loved hearing about Hank is this second book. I enjoyed the banter between Beth and Hank. From the beginning you can feel the sexual tension between the two. With a few twists this book rocks. You will not want to put it down at all. I love this series and can’t wait for the next book.

I hope it’s not the last time either! Thanks for having me Babs!
Hey Avery I am about to write up the review for it :0
That’s quite a cover.
Can’t wait to read this second book in the series to find out what happens between Hanks and Beth.
